Our Sustainable Journey

Our sustatinable journey began in 2015, when we decided to foster rescue horses. Right from the start I knew I wanted to recycle horse manure; I wanted to turn it into compost and sell it to raise money for animal charities we supported.

It was a massive undertaking because we didn’t know anything about the process (it wasn’t simply pilling it up in a corner and leaving it) and we didn’t realise the sheer amount of horse manure four horses could produce!

As with every challenge faced at Little Warden we hit the ground running, the learning curve was oh so steep but after a year of experimenting with different techniques we managed to turn the horse manure into black gold and even found customers willing to buy it.

Riding high on the success of producing black gold we turned our attention to recycling other materials. We also set out Little Warden’s Sustainable Vision and began building our Little Warden Community.
